Pergola Color Options: Finding the Right Look for Your Outdoor Space

When you start planning for an outdoor structure like a pergola, the first questions are usually about the size, layout, and features. But there’s one detail that makes just as big of a difference: color. The right finish can help your pergola blend in or stand out, and it sets the tone for the rest of your outdoor space. So, let’s talk about the pergola color options that are currently available for the pergolas we install!

Standard Frame Colors

The frame gives your pergola its structure, and its color helps anchor the entire design. Currently, Azenco’s aluminum pergola frames are available in three standard colors. By choosing a standard color, you’re getting the shortest possible lead time for manufacturing, which is about 4 weeks.

  • White
  • Dark Gray
  • Black

Each of these powder-coated finishes offers a modern look and works well with a variety of siding colors, patio styles, and furniture.

Whether you want contrast or cohesion, there’s a finish here that will work with your home.

Standard Louver Colors

The louvers are the panels that tilt open and closed, letting you control the amount of sun and shade you get throughout the day.

Your standard louver options include:

  • White
  • Black
  • Dark Gray
  • Wood Grain

That last one, Wood Grain, is a popular choice if you want a warm, wood look without the maintenance of real wood. It pairs especially well with lighter patio furniture or more naturalistic landscaping.

Choosing a different color for the louvers and frame can create a subtle two-tone effect. Or you could opt to keep things clean with a matching look.

R-SHADE Panel Color Options

If you’re going with a solid-roof pergola like the Azenco R-SHADE, your standard frame options are the same as listed above. However, your roof panel choices are different than the louver options.

  • White
  • Wood Grain

These shades offer a clean, consistent look and still complement the rest of your outdoor setup.

Choosing the Right Pergola Color

Now that you know your pergola color options, how do you pick the right one?

Here are a few things we walk through with clients:

  • What color is your home’s exterior?
  • Are you going for contrast or a more seamless look?
  • Do you want the space to feel cozy and warm or open and modern?
  • What kind of furniture and landscaping will be nearby?

It’s not just about what looks good. It’s about how the pergola ties everything together.
